Privacy Policy

Who we are

Fat Free Golf is the business behind this website and the training aids we sell. We are the data controller for any personal data you give us through this site. You can reach us through the contact form on this website.

What this policy covers

This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. It covers the website at fatfreegolf.com, the checkout we run through Shopify, the drill sheet you can sign up for, the contact form, and the customer reviews we pull in from eBay.

What we collect and why

When you place an order, Shopify collects your name, billing address, delivery address, email address, phone number and payment details. Shopify is a separate data controller for that checkout, so your order data is governed by Shopify's own privacy policy as well as ours. We see your name, address and order details so we can make and ship your item, and we use your email to tell you when it has been sent. We keep order records for as long as we need them for tax and accounting, which is six years. The legal basis is performance of the contract you placed with us, plus our legal obligation to keep accounting records.

The drill sheet and email sign-up

If you give us your email address to receive the free drill sheet, we store that email address in our own database and use it to send you the sheet. We do not add you to a marketing list and we do not sell or share the address. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by entering your email and clicking to request the sheet. You can withdraw that consent and ask us to delete your address at any time by emailing us. We keep drill-sheet sign-up addresses until you ask us to remove them.

When you contact us

If you message us through the contact form on this site, we keep your message, your name and your email address so we can reply and so we have a record of what was discussed. We keep those messages for up to two years and then delete them. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering your question and keeping a record of it. For anything sensitive, mention it in your message and we will handle it personally.

Customer reviews from eBay

We pull in our eBay seller feedback so real customers can read what other buyers thought. The reviews shown on this site include the rating, review text, date, the buyer's eBay username as eBay displays it publicly, and the item purchased. We do not collect or display any additional personal data from eBay, and eBay remains the controller for that data. If you left a review on eBay and you want it removed from this site as well, contact us and we will hide it, though the original stays on eBay until you deal with it there.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies to keep your shopping basket working as you move between pages. We also use basic analytics to understand which pages are visited and how people find the site, but this is aggregated and not tied to your name or email. You can block cookies in your browser and the site still works for browsing. We do not use advertising cookies or share data with advertising networks.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We share order details with Shopify, who processes the payment and gives us the information we need to ship your order. We use a shipping carrier to deliver parcels, so we pass your name and delivery address to them. We use a cloud platform to host the website and store the drill-sheet sign-up list, and that provider may process data on our behalf as a processor. Apart from that, we only share data when the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.

Where your data is stored

Order data is held by Shopify. The drill-sheet sign-up list and any messages you send us are held on our cloud hosting platform, which is based outside the UK but operates under standard contractual clauses that the UK government recognises as adequate protection for personal data sent abroad. We do not transfer your data anywhere else.

How long we keep data

We keep order records for six years for tax and accounting. We keep drill-sheet sign-up addresses until you ask us to remove them. We keep contact messages for up to two years. eBay review data stays for as long as the review is shown on this site. When we no longer need data we delete it or make it anonymous.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to see what data we hold about you, to ask us to correct anything that is wrong, to ask us to delete it, to ask us to restrict how we use it, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. You can withdraw consent for the drill sheet at any time. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk if you are not happy with how we handle your data. To use any of these rights, send us a message through the contact form and we will sort it out rather than making you chase.

Children

This site sells golf training aids to adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you think a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use personal data we will update this page. This policy was last reviewed on 17 September 2026.
